Full Tilt Pull Out of IPO

on 2015-12-10, 14:04
It has been announced that Full Tilt won't be partnering with the IPO in 2016.

On the plus side, Stephen MacLean the well-known Irish Tournament Director has plans to continue the tour and the IPO Dublin will go ahead next October. If you havent played the event, it is well worth going over for it.

The dates will be 27th to 31st Oct 2016 and it will be held at the Regency Hotel, Dublin.

The event (and associated tour events, including in the UK) was run under the Boylesport banner for several years, so it is surprising and disappointing that Full Tilt have pulled out after only one year.

While Dublin remains a mecca for poker players, not all legs of the tour attracted the same level of support. Dublin got 1498 runners and the next best was London at 211. Full Tilt will no doubt have taken note of the fact that of the 1498 players at the live event, only around 170 of them bothered to play the post-event IPO Dublin online freeroll, which seems to be a measure of how relevant and well regarded Full Tilt is these days.

News on who might step in as the online partner will be announced when known, but rest assured satellites will be running online somewhere when a deal has been done.

Full Tilt didn`t give it sufficient time or effort, in my view.  I`d been looking forward to it becoming more of a complete tour.  In 2015, the only event anywhere near us Midlanders was London, and that fell on August Bank Holiday when most of us would have had other commitments.  So, we got no real chance to take part.

This is such a shame, I attended this event in Dublin, and absolutely loved it. It has a great atmosphere and was supported by APAT so plenty of events running,

Someone will take it up surely

also attended and it was a superb weekend. Stephen McLean is a great organiser and hopefully a replacement sponsor can be found.
