The schedule only shows 1 change from January with Thursday changing to a Deepstack with optional add-on

The TITAN is on February 7th-February 9th and the 25/25 is on February 28th-March 2nd

Again it's a very poor schedule that will get a massive turn out of players.... To other poker rooms!!!!!

If people have some constructive criticism that will help our schedule appeal to our local clientel more than this schedule does then this is the place to share it

You tried increasing the guarantees and it didn't work. I think the fact of the matter is that you will never be able to compete with the B'ham card rooms, they simply have a much larger client (punter) base, and we all know this is where the money is.

Saying that, your tourneys are still a mess. Add-ons I hate, and I also said I'd never play a tourney with a 20 minute clock from the start ever again. Broadway has a 30 minute clock for the majority of it's tourneys, which I think is great.

I feel like you should take a leaf out of Grosvenor B'ham's book and liken your schedule to theirs. Look at their starting stacks, their policy of NO ADD-ONS, their structure of 4x30 minute clock then 20 minutes thereafter, and then INCORPORATE your extra blind levels as well (eg. 150/300), for a greatly improved tournament structure.

If you improve these basic mistakes, and get rid of the gimmicks (add-ons, reloads, blah blah blsah bullshit), then maybe the punters will start to come back in with the money and you can slowly start to increase the guarantees again.

Thanks for the comments as always we appreciate feedback from all of our players.

Just to respond to the last comment we don't have 20 min clocks from the start in any of our comps, we have 4 x 25 mi  levels in everything (it's in the t &c's at the bottom) and also have all the levels including the 75/150 & 150/300 again we have had these in for at least a year. Which does give a very good structure in all of our competitions.

That it is very difficult to compete with the client base that they have in Birmingham and that will always be tough. At the moment we are actually getting very good numbers for the majority of our comps even days which have otherwise been quiet. Averaging over 30 everyday with only Wednesday being the possible exception and many days averaging over 50 players I.e Monday, saturday and sunday.

We have discussed losing addons in most comps but a large amount of players have actually said they want to keep them in. We have still got a few of our tournaments which we don't have addons.

On a slightly different note we are thinking about changing tne start times of all of our comps, how do you guys feel about a 7:30pm start or is it too early?

To be honest I can’t see any point in making any suggestions regarding schedule changes as you don’t take any real notice of player views and just run unimaginative tournaments.

You make promises of reply to other forum posts which you fail to keep, we also had a conversation on Facebook regarding a player’s championship tournament you were going to run starting in January which you have failed to deliver.

As for your comments of how many players you are getting in your daily tournaments, if your poker app is to be trusted it has shown for the last week, Mon £2 rebuy plus add-on 39 players. Tue £15 plus add-on 27 players. Wed £20 NO ADDON 20 players. Thur £25 deepstack with add-on 18 players. Fri £30 with add-on 29 players. Sat £20 with add-on 57 players. Sun £25 Ricoh reload 42 players. Sun 25/25 sat 12 players.

So you are right when you say you’re averaging 30 players per night although the poker app does not state clearly if these include players that have re-entered or if these are single entries, maybe you could enlighten us on this.

You also appear to boast that you’re regularly hitting 30 players on average per night, I’m not sure it’s anything to be proud of.

Just a couple of miles away from you are Genting Coventry which as a venue don’t even come close to Grosvenor Coventry, also the dealing skills at Genting are poor by comparison to Grosvenor so maybe you should ask yourself why regular players of Ricoh have abandoned you in favour of them.

Genting have now started a Saturday night tournament which I’m sure will reduce your numbers even more, so how much longer will you bury your head and say all is great in the Grosvenor Ricoh poker room.

I’m confident that if you don’t start to take notice of midlands poker players and continue to run lacklustre insipid poker tournaments Genting will not only be gaining more of your players but also receiving a number of CV’s from your dealers over coming months.

I guess a lot depends on your perspective.  For myself, I am never likely to turn up for any venue`s £20 buyin comps on a weekday.  Not worth getting the car out.  So, I don`t care about the vast majority of this structure.

Of the games that do interest me, the monthly Titan is one of the best in this part of the world, the Goliath is always a diary date every year, and it`s a pleasant enough cardroom with decent dealers.  So, I personally don`t see a need to be so vehemently negative.

I am no longer commenting on cardroom tourneys or structures positive or negative, if you see me at a local casino u know i approve of the game.

Panfried i can't see the point of paying £50 for the Titan with a gtd of £10K for 2 days hard slog when it could get you 100K at DTD, just my opinion. As you've said your first choice this weekend is DTD?

DTD is twice as far to travel from where I live.  Also, although I have trousered a good few quid there, I have never learned to really like the place.  No atmosphere, too cramped and crowded.  It`s like playing poker in New Street Station.

They have made it even more cramped than ever recently by walling off one of the two bars and making it a private room for those who know the correct funny handshake.  A bloody odd thing to do for the place that claims to be the enthusiast`s cardroom.

Ok i accept the travelling is awful at certain times along with the distance for most Birmingham players, but if you or me are in god mode i'd rather play the larger gtd mtt's.

We may not ber able to compete with DTD in terms of guarantee but the titan will certainly have a much better structure therefor the better players will usually come out on top Smile
