SCOOP 2013 Schedule Released

on 2013-03-29, 19:23
PokerStars has released a tentative schedule for the Spring Championship of Online Poker, which includes the return of Zoom tournaments and several variations of recently introduced 5-card Omaha.

The series that runs May 12-26 boasts 42 events—two more than last year—and could feature even more, according to a draft schedule that is subject to change.

As usual the tournaments are split into three categories—low, medium and high—with buy-ins ranging from $5.50 for a low 6-max No-Limit Hold’em event up to $21,000 for the No-Limit Hold’em heads up “high roller.”

Earlier this month, PokerStars threw Big “O” into its cash game mix. It is played the same as Omaha, except that players are dealt five cards preflop. In one variant, called Courchevel, the first card of the flop is dealt before the preflop betting round.

For those who think they already have the game down, the Courchevel tournaments are May 20, with an $11 event, a $109 event and a $1,050 event.

The series also includes several other non-Hold’em games, such as Triple Draw Deuce-Seven, 7-Card Stud Hi/Lo, Razz. Eight-Game mix and Triple Stud.

The 2012 SCOOP was heralded as the “biggest online tournament series in history,” paying out more than $65m in prize money.
