Parking - No Problem!

on 2011-10-29, 00:06
There has been a few people recently doubting our parking facilities here at the casino so I thought I'd make everything clear.

We have a number of car parks available to our players free of charge but by far the easiest way to park is by bringing your car to the door and giving the keys to our dedicated and professional car jockeys. They'll park your car for you in a secure car park and when you've finished, they'll bring it back for you!

If you arrive early enough then you could park your own, we use the red cage car park in front of the Mail Box, the NCP above New St Station or the Albany car park behind the Holiday Inn Hotel. All of these car park are free of charge, just ask the reception to validate your ticket for you when you leave.

Thanks, Jon. That is a much more clear and detailed explanation than the one on Gala`s website.

Played there tonight (Saturday).

I thought it was very good and much improved from when I last played there. I will certainly be going again. Great structure and dealers that I saw were of a competent standard. They offered a £1,500 guarantee which for a £30 comp is excellent. (It made £1,560)

Friendly and welcoming place and I will certainly be recommending this venue to others.

The only thing I would change is the scheduled breaks.

1st break was after level 4 which made sense as it's the end of late reg, (2 hours of play) but the break was 30 mins. The break doesn't really need to be that long, it's a cigarette/toilet break not a dinner break!

The second break was not till the end of level 10.

I don't smoke but it must be tough on those that do. I'd personally rather have short sharp breaks but as that was the only thing I'd have changed I'm very happy with the venue.

Fluence, it was a pleasure to meet you and welcome to our room. I hope to see you in there again soon.

In regards to the break I think it's a good point and I will look at cutting the break down after level 4. The reason behind the break originally was to give the players chance to eat in the restaurant. Prior to the refurb we had maybe 20% of the field eating during that first break. Since the refurb I have noticed the amount of players who actually eat during that break has dropped tremendously.

I will run a straw poll over the next week and the majority vote will get it - 15min, 20min or remain at 30.

Meanwhile, I'm glad you enjoyed your evening and look forward to our next meeting.

Regards,

Jon

Just a quick one guys.. Is the valet parking still available?, and is it just a matter of pulling up outside and coming into reception?

Slightly off topic, but is there any comp/side event running alongside the pokerplayer grand final this weekend?

All replys greatly appreciated!, Looking forward to coming to gala!Very Happy

Valet parking is definitely available every evening, though not sure if it will be at lunchtime on Saturday might be worth phoning to check.

I have no idea if they plan to run the evening comp as normal.

My guess and it's only a guess is that they will but it may be full/capped due to the number of extra players around and a much higher demand for cash games than normal. By 8.30pm from 1.00pm there will be loads of bust outs for sure.

We have put extra staff on the valet parking for the day but Birmingham City Centre is a nightmare on a Saturday afternoon this close to Christmas (German Market and all).

My advice is get there with plenty of time to spare and if there is a long queue for the valet parking be prepared to park your own in the car parks mentioned above.

We intend to run the £30 freeze out at 8:30pm as well but, as Fluence guessed, space will be limited due to the Final still running and whatever cash action is on offer.

Look forward to seeing you on the day.
