Deal done in the £300 Deepstack

on 2011-12-13, 02:34
Four players decided to make a deal at the Final Table of the £300 Deepstack with Peter Linton taking home the biggest share of cash.

Last weekend saw 323 players compete in the £300 Deepstack over the two Day 1's, hoping to win a share of the £100,000 Guaranteed prize pool.

64 players managed to fight their way through to Day 2 with the top 36 places being paid, with the field chasing the big stacks of Peter Linton, Luke Hallinan and Sunil Mistri. These 64 players also included Caicau Huang, who was hoping for a repeat performance after winning the £300 Deepstack last month.

As the bubble approached players seemed to be flying out left right and centre, including Ceri Rees who got his Aces cracked, and Caicau Huang unable to pull off back to back wins. This pace seemed to continue after the money bubble, and soon they were down to a final table with Tom Hall as chipleader.

The final table was 8 handed for at least 2 hours of play. Eventually when down to just 4 players they decided to make a deal, with the payouts as follows based on a rough chip count:

Ifzal Mohammed - £12,000
Tom Hall - £14,500
Barry Neville - £16,500
Peter Linton - £21,000

The £300 Deepstack is receiving a facelift in January and DTD are guaranteeing £150,000 for a £500 buy in.

Also a big congratulations to Jonathan Kittridge. After winning a satellite into the Monte Carlo for just €8 he decided he would get some live practice in with this event, finishing 8th for £2,264.
