Remember The Coventry Titan (4th - 7th May)

on 2018-05-02, 15:19
Grosvenor Coventry

The Titan is making a comeback and this time it's bigger and better! (they say)

Three live Day 1's with an extra online Day 1 make this favourite unmissable (unless you never saw any promotion)

With a £10k guarantee, 40 minute clock and unlimited re-entries the May bank holiday weekend (4th-7th May) is one to save the date for
(unless you have made other plans already)

Ricoh Titan Sat fail.
Poker players always hear we should be supporting our local cardrooms and the events being run. Plus i'm always (if lucky) up for cheap entry to an Mtt.
Tonight it was a 10 seat gtd in to the Titan, £10 entry no reg fee and a little add on at the break. Perfect i thought and you know what thought does " it F***s you over".
10 seats Gtd and already a waiting list, WOW you must be thinking how many players are registered 70,80,90 don't make me F**king laugh just over 30. Yes bloody 30 players and not even enough dealers to make the guarantee. What was the F***ing point of offering a sat if players can't be seated at the start on a 15 min clock. Its a good job they don't promote the card room very well or they would be F***ed every night.
I didn't even bother to register and came home, at least i have a sofa and i'm guaranteed a seat.
What a complete F***ing shambles and not even worth a 1 star rating for the casino. If i'm not banned after this post the next time i'm going the Ricoh is for the Goliath, and only because its ran by the Grosvenor crew.

I must admit the lack of promotion for this event led me to think it was going to struggle. They seem to have promoted it on their own Facebook page but the regulars ill all know about it anyway. They dont seem to have reached out to advertise in other areas (at least not on Midlands Poker Forum) and that's a shame because it used to be a good comp. But if they cant get it right for a satellite and organise a few dealers there is sod all chance they will get it right over the weekend. Considering the competition they are up against, it could be a train wreck - or a bonanza for value hunters!

Day 1a of The Titan is over and 20 players have progressed to Monday's day 2. A strong first day field collecting £6500 of the £10k guarantee already and we still have 3 day 1's to go!
Leading the way is Jayesh with over 200k followed closely by Chris, they'll be coming back with a huge stack with the blinds resuming at 1000/2000 on Monday. Full chip counts below:
