RIP Pokerqueen

on 2017-11-06, 12:12

This has been all over Facebook since yesterday, but in case anyone is not aware, the lovely Emma Fryer (aka Pokerqueen online) was tragically taken from us at the weekend in a car crash in the Czech Republic, where she had gone to play the biggest tournament of her career, the WSOPE.

The Stoke-based player will be well known to players in the Midlands and beyond as she was a regular on the poker scene here and in the North West, and appeared to be on the crest of a wave recently, coming third in the last DTD1000 for £47,500, less than a month ago, and followed that up just a week later with 2nd place in the Genting Poker Series Mini event at Sheffield for a further £7000.

After working at Bet365 for some years, Emma had just taken the decision to play professionally, had secured a sponsor, and was destined for great things.

This heartbreaking news also comes just months after the wedding of one of her daughters, and the announcement just last week that she was going to become a grandmother. Just when things seemed to be on the up, this is a cruel, cruel, blow and our thoughts go out to her partner and the rest of her family.

RIP Emma

That`s very sad.

The older you get, the better you get (unless you`re a banana).
