Brighton Info

on 2016-02-21, 11:31
Can anyone recommend the best place to play tournaments in Brighton please? I am there from Weds 30th March for a few days and was looking for a game or 2. I haven't managed to find a decent forum like this one for the area.

The 2 main places to play are the G casino along the seafront and the Rendezvous casino. Rendezvous tournaments are detailed here

Couldn't find much on grosvenors website re tournies (shock!) but looking on the Grosvenor app, the G seems to have better offerings midweek with decent starting stack freeze outs and 30 min clock,  the Rendesvous offerings look like unlimited rebuy fishfests

I have played both and the Grosvenor has the better comps and structures.

Help needed! I'm free to play in Brighton all day this Sunday but the options are terrible! The Grosvenor has a £15 buy-in tournament which last week only had 27 runners, and that's not til 8.15pm. I was in there last night too and the cardroom is terribly run. There was 1 cash game and 6 people waiting for over an hour. The guy said he'd open up a 2nd table once 1 of the tournament tables closed. When I pointed out they had 19 players left over 3 tables and could close one, he did so, only to then give all of his dealers a break at the same time. He even said once they were back he'd be taking his own 20 minute break, and he'd open a 2nd table when he got back!! Needless to say I left.

At Rendezvous, again there is no tournament until 8.15pm and I've been told there will be no cash games in the afternoon. The tournament itself has 15-minute levels so will be hideous!

Is there anywhere else to play around here? Please??!

Have to say, for anyone playing down this way... I played some cash at Rendezvous and it's a cracking place to play poker.

Absolutely hated the Grosvenor down here. Badly run.
